Well this desert town's been gettin me down And I'm still while I dry out Here comes the cold the rain and the Old Crow I can't do without And I've been good like I knew I could for a couple of days on end Here comes the night and the devil might drag me down again Oh the devil my old friend Drag me down again Here comes the night and the devil might drag me down again Well you know I try to stay pretty dry but some things never change And I confess when I'm at my best it feels a little strange And I've been good like I knew I could for a couple of days on end Here comes the night and the devil might drag me down again Oh the devil my old friend Drag me down again Here comes the night and the devil might drag me down again Here comes the night and the devil might drag me down again Here comes the night and the devil might drag me down again Here comes the night and the devil might drag me down again

Hell I don't remember what you said When you fell and hit your head You know it didn't feel so strange So hurry up this bar is shutting down I guess we're gonna have to drown With our hearts so out of range Oh don't you ever change Well Hollywood is dead this time of night And no one feels so right With their hearts still out of range So hurry up my drunken valentine Just hold your hand in mine Before our hearts rearrange Oh don't you ever change Hell you know I hope it's not a dream I think we'd make a killer team And it wouldn't be so strange So hurry up my drunken valentine Just hold your hand in mine Before our hearts rearrange Oh don't you ever change Oh don't you ever change? Oh don't you ever change

Your smiles and hugs never felt so fake to me You were my love now you're just standing there torturing me I'm lookin to rest my weary soul but I know I can't get to sleep And I don't wanna be your friend Cause I don't want to pretend That I don't love you That I don't love you That I don't love you Anymore Yeah I don't wanna be your friend Cause I don't want to pretend That I don't love you That I don't love you That I don't love you I don't love you I don't love you I don't love you Anymore
4.
Hollywood is a dead end where everyone wants to pretend That everything will be alright That everything will be alright I wish I could pack it in But I'm never one for givin in So I tell myself everything will be alright That everything will be alright From the morning to the night I say Everything will be alright From the morning to the night I say everything will be alright I say everything will be alright

about

Devin O'Rourke has been making the rounds of the Los Angeles folk scene as one half of the high energy folk duo, Punch-Drunks, whose music has been described as "the twangy colors of folk with brushstrokes of punk and heartbreak" (Discovery Sessions).

His first solo EP release, The Devil Might, finds him digging deeper into the rootsy, alt-country well, while still retaining some of the home-spun, DIY feel of Punch-Drunks. The album features a stripped down, acoustic production with layers of harmonies, wailing harmonica and raw, heart on the sleeve vocals.

He is the latest addition to an exciting roster of indie folk artists on Los Angeles' Pop Cautious Records label.
